Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who ruled a large and bountiful kingdom. All the princes sought her hand in marriage, and the neighbouring kingdoms always invited her to their parties. However, this princess was too lazy to dance - she simply sat at the side of the room, rejecting hand after hand in the dance, drinking wine and waiting rather undiplomatically for the evening to end. One night the princess went to the party of an evil sorceress. When the witch saw that the girl would not dance, a plan came into her mind. She mixed up a little spell and put it into the girl's wine, one which would make her feet follow the dance whether she liked it or not. But, even after drinking the energy-filled draught, the princess did not move. She yawned! Filled with rage, the sorceress went to where the girl sat. "You have insulted your host each time you attended their party," She said, drawing from the deep folds of her cloak an hourglass, "And you have spurned the hand of every prince of the land. If you are so lazy that you cannot rouse yourself for anybody, then you do not deserve to rise at all!" And when she turned over the hourglass, the sand began to run through its glass chambers, and the princess felt her eyelids become so heavy that she could not hold them up. "You will sleep for one hundred years," The witch announced as the princess fell into a deep slumber. "When you awake, all that you know, all that you love, will have passed you by. Perhaps then you will appreciate what you have." And with that the sorceress stormed from the room, and the party guests followed her in an awed silence. Howeer, there was one prince who stayed, for despite her refusals to them all he had fallen in love with the princess. He knew the curse could not be broken, only waited out, but also that he would never live long enough to see the princess waken. And he remembered that his ancestors had been witches too, and with the remnants of magic in his blood he transformed himself into a spider, so that he might live within the room and watch over the princess for the duration of her curse.

So my darling sister gets a piece of paper jammed into the printer, and not only can we not get it out we can't even SEE the damn thing. So this is a temporary picture of the piece, especially because I'm that bad at taking photos. In real life it isn't crooked like that. Trust me. Inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins contest - this one goes out to Sloth. Pity there's no fairy tale contest at the moment, I think this would work quite well for something like that
Lots of cutting and pasting, as usual... the beautiful border paper, tissue paper, and stickers all came from Spotlight (best shop ever), and the silver threads came from my mother's embroidery basket. They're sewn on - I couldn't make them glue or anything
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
